Wednesday 5th March

Not much to report at the moment, I phoned earlier for an update and they were only just extubating her (taking out the ventilation tube). We will be there in a couple of hours, so will wait until we get there to find out how the CPAP is going.

Bailey has been wonderful today, so gorgeous! We went to the beach this morning as it was 37c today. We had a great time. He loves splashing in the water! It was nice to do something normal and not have to rush around.

Niamh has been on CPAP for 7 hours now and is tolerating it well. Still a bit up and down though. She has the feeding tube down her throat now instead of up her nose and is able to make very tiny sounds. We heard some small squeak, but nothing really audible.

This is a picture of her without the CPAP on. She has to wear the hat to keep it all in place. Her nostrils will look wider than they are for a while as the prongs are quite big and push her nose up, but they should go back to normal after she is off this a while.

Keeping everybody part crossed that Niamh tolerates having the tubes out. Also well done on the weight gain Naimh!!! I just noticed her stats on the left, sending porky vibes her way lol

Will check back in the morning/afternoon to see what your update is Bon.

cheers,
Leoni

Wishing Niamh all the best without the tubes. How amazing to have her starting tomake sounds - she must be feeling so much better ...just hope she can tolerate the change - I have no doubt she iwll take it in her stride - she is a tough little chickadee :)
Glad you had a good day with B at the beach - wow to 37c - has been really typical autumn weather here.
Have a good night xoxo
