I phoned the NICU tonight and Niamh is doing really well. She did a huge poo which is fantastic, the nurse said she had gotten up to mischief whilst on her tummy and she was having trouble cleaning it up lol! This is fantastic news, her little bowels are functioning and taking my milk. She is now being fed 1ml milk every 2 hours instead of every 4 which is great. There was a slight sign of a possible infection, but they gave her antibiotics straight away to keep on top of it. An infection would be very bad at this stage, but by anticipating anything, they hope it wont be a problem.
She is gorgeous and cute and the nurses seem to love her. One of them even requested her for their shift!

oh my, look at her sweet little arm up over her head! cuteness!! So glad to hear she is going so well, LOL at her getting a bit feisty and kicking the poo everywhere...a sign of things to come maybe?? :-p

Was going to ask you if she had done a poo yet, great to hear she has. I guess now that she is getting some milk in her system the good-ole plumbing is starting to work ;-)
