Sunday February 17th

Not much change today. Niamh was bringing up her milk this morning coupled with some green bile so they stopped the milk again and decided to do an X-Ray to see what is going on. So far there doesn't seem to be anything wrong, but we are phoning up this evening to see whats new. We got to see Niamh today, albeit briefly. Theres never enough time, and definitely never enough time completely alone with her. Its hard to have a quiet moment there. I did some of her cares and changed her nappy and then we had to leave.

I phoned up this evening and the X-Rays were fine. They started Niamh back on milk at 4pm and so far so good. She is back to 1ml every two hours. The blood cultures hadn't grown anything so it looks like she is free from infection too! Hooray :)

And her belly button stump has fallen off!

Hi Bon,

Pity you don't get much time to spend with Niamh, you sound like you are on an express train! Hope you get some quality time with her soon.

Did her bloods come back yet when they tested for an infection? I wonder if the AB's are making her throw backe her milk, coupled with her tiny intestines its any wonder. Fingers crossed the results come back clean for her.

Sending lots of strength and hugs to you and your family. Keep your chin up sweets, she is doing sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo well ;-)

Cheers,
Leoni

Fingers XX'd she is just getting rid of all the excess muck in her tummy and will soon be 'guzzling' that milk again.
Must be so hard for you Bin atm, running here and there. Hope you are feeling 'ok' and remember we are all here for you anytime xoxoxo

It must never be enough time Binnie, and with everyone hovering it must be quietly frustrating.

Take care mate, tomorrow will be better.

I know you have heard it before Bon, but little by little, one day at a time. Things will be better tomorrow. Try and get an early night, things always feel better after a good night's sleep xoxoxoxox

No, it was already gone when we got there. It was tiny and a bit yukky anyway! :)
