Well today we got Niamh baptised. Father Kevin is retired but comes in to do blessings if asked which was lovely of him. He was very nice and caring and made us feel very comfortable.

The staff in the NICU are faultless. Sue, one of Niamhs carers went to so much trouble to make things nice for us. She found a teeny tiny christening gown for her to wear with a little dove of peace embroidered on. Niamh had little white booties and a white hat. Father Kevin used a seashell with blessed sterile water to baptise her and we were given a certificate, baptism candle and even a beautiful rosary. We also get to keep her christening gown, booties and hat. When Niamh is older, we can have a completion ceremony in church so she can still get to wear Tonys beautiful christening gown that Bailey also wore.

Our good friend Megan came in to witness the event and give us her support and she and her husband Rhys have been wonderful to us. They even had Bailey all day yesterday and he stayed overnight so Tony and I could have some much needed time together. We really appreciated it.

We went and saw Niamh together and things seemed to be stable. She has her fluctuations and its very much minute by minute, but by all accounts she was doing well. We keep being told how good her skin is and how strong she is. She is so feisty that they have to sedate her to protect her from herself. She will wear herself out or do some damage to herself.
