Tuesday 10th June An update at last!!
Sorry for the delay! We have been really busy (unsurprisingly) having two children is pretty hectic :) Niamh is powering along though, she had her check up today with her paed which went really well. She has put on 447g in two weeks and now weighs 3.07kg! Little porker, I think its all in her cheeks :) She has a cold/viral infection in her nasal area so she is now on antibiotics. She is doing really well though and we have been using the nasal aspirator to clear her out. We havent been getting much sleep as Anthony stays up to do the midnight feed (which ends up trailing on until the early hours as she doesnt always want to settle right away) and then not long after he wheels her in at 3am, Im up clearing her nose and getting ready for the 4am feed. She goes every four hours which is fantastic, yesterday she went 5 hours while we enjoyed my birthday lunch.
Bailey is enamoured with her, he is so affectionate with her. If she cries he is quick to tell me and is genuinely concerned. He also loves to come and see her in the morning and stands on his chair to watch me change her and get her ready. He loves holding her and is pretty good with it. We watch him like a hawk though, just to make sure :) but try to do it subtlely.
Ive been pretty flat. I think everything has come to a head and it has hit me all at once. I feel burnt out and have been trying to take it easy and not get too involved in anything. I just havent had the energy or emotional capacity and have been avoiding talking to people as much as possible. Ive been very grumpy! Still, this week, so far has been better, its been great having Anthony home, Im not sure how I am going to go without him as I have come to rely on him a lot. I dont quite feel right in myself still, but hopefully I will back to 'normal' soon!

Glad to hear Niamh is doing so well :) She is the weight now that my DS was when he was born lol
I hope your feeling better soon... *hugs*

Siobhan I'm not surprised at all that you're feeling flat. Its almost as though you have been through 4 months of emotional trauma, only to then have to bring home what is essentially a newborn baby and just cope. I don't think you would be human if you weren't feeling at least a little strung out!
Don't be afraid to voice it if you're still not feeling right after too long. PND is really common with mum's of premmies and there is lots of help available if you need it.
On a happier note, Niamh looks AMAZING!! She is such a cutie and growing up so much.
Thanks for updating, have been wondering how you were going =)

Ahhhhh Binnie,
so glad you updated, I have been worrying about you.
Its wonderful to see that Niamh is doing so well, and that Bailey is coping too. That video is a classic, just about to do the 'wah' at the end there!
(love her outfit too ;))
I am so sorry to hear that you are flat. Its hard stuff keeping up with a newborn, and another, let alone a newborn with so many worries and issues IYKWIM.
Don't be too hard on yourself, opt out for a little while, take it easy, take time out for you and just recharge the mental and emotional batteries a bit. If you think its getting a little out of hand, make sure you speak to someone, you are after all, in a very unique situation and there are bound to be repercussions to it.
I hope you are feeling better soon, and get some answers to your feeling 'offness'. Make sure the GP checks you out for iron and thyroid stuff too, as that can make you feel dreadfully lousy also.
All in all Bon, you have coped extremely well with this situation, so now stop expecting so much of yourself and feeling guilty! Just stay at home, enjoy your family and relax.
You deserve it.

Dear Bon,
It's so lovely reading your updates and watching the incredibly gorgeous Niamh in action !
As others have said, you do need to take care of yourself as well bella. It's tough enough dealing with a pre-schooler and a newborn even without adding the weeks of worry and exhaustion that you had even prior to Niamh's homecoming into the mix.
I hope that you can make the most of having some help on tap to relax and pamper yourself a bit.
Take care my friend.

What a beautiful little girl she is blossoming into! You have been through such an ordeal, it would take more than a saint not to snap occasionally or feel flat. Being on hyper-drive for so long, willing your little super-girl along, is so draining, let alone having another child to look after.
My hat goes off to you. Niamh is gorgeous. Hoping the coming months are without too many curveballs.
